ASCSN according to Vanguard,  in a statement yesterday, June 20, by its national president and secretary-general, Comrade Bobboi Bala Kaigama and Comrade Alade Bashir Lawal respectively, warned that the association will view any attempt by the federal government to slash the salaries of workers as an invitation to war.

The association decried the fact that several states of the federation were still owing civil servants bulk of monthly salaries and other benefits amid the expectations that they come to work, and take care of their family responsibilities.
The inability of states governors to pay the salaries of their workers has in time past caused disagreement between the federal and state government.
Ex- minister of finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala in May, blamed the state governors for their inability to pay salaries, noting they were told through the federation accounts allocation committee to make the issue of wage a priority.

Some state governors however reacted angrily to the accusations by Okonjo-Iweala, accusing her of being economical with the truth.
