Two Women Stripped Naked Over Theft Of N100k In Abuja

Two unidentified women have been stripped naked by an angry mob for stealing N100,000 from a wine shop in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory.
According to Daily Post, the wine shop which the women allegedly stole from is located at Dutsen Alhaji market, Bwari Area Council of Abuja.
The women, it was gathered, pretended to be buying some items on Wednesday, October 28, and while one of the women approached the shop owner to pretend as if she was negotiating the price of a bottle of wine, her accomplice reportedly dipped her hand into the drawer and removed N100,000.
“She was about to walk away with the money when the shop owner who had seen her raised the alarm which attracted other traders,” an eyewitness said, adding that traders, who noticed what had transpired, pounced on the two women and stripped them naked in the process.
But for the intervention of the police, the women would have been lynched. The security operatives later took them away from the market for due prosecution.
The Dutse Divisional Police Officer, SP Hajiya Aisha Yusuf, while confirming the incident, said the suspects have been charged to court.
